Amaretto Disaronno, the Italian liqueur, is to run a Valentine’s sampling campaign through integrated brand experience agency i2i Marketing to encourage singles and couples to try new ways of drinking the product. The new “Devotion or Desire” campaign will visit carefully selected bars in Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh in the run-up to Valentine’s weekend. i2i brand ambassadors will be offering drinkers a 5cl sample of Disaronno with either a coke or cranberry mixer. They will also encourage consumers to purchase two Disaronno drinks for the chance to receive chocolates and to be entered into a prize draw to win either a romantic trip for two to Venice or a self indulgent Champney’s spa day for one. The team will travel round the bars in a Disaronno branded Fiat 500, reinforcing the brand’s Italian heritage. Bruce Burnett, managing director of i2i Marketing, says: “Disaronno traces its roots back to the Renaissance, one of the most romantic periods in history.
