Following the re-launch of Cadbury Dairy Milk in 2003, along with 11 other variants of the 200g bar, SDI Displays were required to provide a display solution to make the confectionary category as a whole more visible, to increase product availability and to ensure a high profile in
all areas of the store.

Working closely with Cadbury Trebor Bassett, Vivid produced a modular unit to meet this challenge, to secondary site 200g bars in locations away from the main confectionary fixture, and to create a branded presence.

Sam Hill, Managing Director, explains, “It was essential that the unit be fully flexible to allow stores most efficient use of space. The Modular unit is made from injection moulded polycarbonate pods, with fully flexible metal brackets, making it incredibly versatile - it can be fitted to a gondola end, slatwall, pegboard, or any upright, along with the facility to be free-standing counter mounted.”

To date, over 8000 units have been produced, with orders coming in thick and fast, Sam comments, “Our design has driven sales of the 200g format through the roof. I believe this to be down to increased presence and distribution. In just one account - the CO-OP - an initial sales uplift of 21% has been achieved. As a result, the CO-OP will be siting the Modular unit in another 1,000 stores in 2005. I’m extremely pleased that all of our hard work has paid off – I can’t wait to see the figures for the other stores”.
